All three choirs sang ‘Havana’ by Camila Cabello, taking turns to impress the judging panel with their different talents. Austen introduced a clever mashup of Ed Sheeran’s ‘Shape of You’, Frank creatively added the use of live musicians including Mr Butler on the bongos, and Pankhurst had great rhythm, use of movement and musicality.
For House Music, parents were invited into the Assembly Hall and treated to an evening of musical variety. Each House had a forty five minute slot, in which each performer was given a strict two minute window to showcase their talents to Mrs Kirnig and Mr Thurston, our Rock and Pop teacher. From soprano singing, piano boogie-woogie, heavenly harping to trombone acrobatics, musical theatre numbers, clever bass guitar playing, soulful soloists and potential girl bands of the future. Well done to all the brilliant performers.
Watch this space as the winners of both the House Choir and House Music will be announced after half-term!
