Hello, my name is Sharon and I am a junior house resident tutor. In my career so far have worked in three different boarding schools in three different countries and have enjoyed the diversity that living and working in these environments provide. It is an absolute privilege to journey with our girls at Priors Field through their teenage years as they question who they are and try to achieve the best they can academically. In boarding I get to see the girls as they really are, join with them in their laughter and provide any support that they made need. During the school day I teach Religious Studies and am involved in Hockey and the Duke of Edinburgh award. I love to cook, keep active, read books, watch movies and have a giggle.
I thoroughly enjoy my role as a boarding tutor. I spend time with both the junior and sixth form boarders and take part in many of their activities and events. There is never a dull moment in PF boarding and the themed dinners are a particular favourite of mine! I am currently a first form tutor and teach Art, Photography and Textiles from first form to A-level. It is such a pleasure to teach all of the creative subjects and I hope I have passed on my passion for the creative arts to my students. Prior’s Field is a friendly and diverse community and boarding is such an important part of our school identity. I am thrilled to be part of it!
“I studied art at University and when I was still studying worked in a painting pottery café, where I taught many, many people of all ages how to paint pottery, which I found really good fun. I also volunteered with various museums in London and the Wildlife Trust, helping to deliver educational classes and through this I began to consider a career in teaching. I teach art and photography here and it’s a really busy but fulfilling job! I love to combine my creative side in junior boarding with my weekly craft club and I really enjoy providing pastoral care through my boarding duties.
I also enjoy working in sixth form boarding and my weekend duties allow me to see and help support the wide and varying life that boarding encompasses here. “
I am a PE teacher from Scotland who has recently joined the Prior’s Field boarding team. I live in the 6th form boarding house and one of my favourite things about living on the site is the overall family feel of the school. I am looking forward to using the outdoor pool and playing tennis in the summer term. I run hockey, rounder’s, tennis, netball and athletics team throughout the year from 1st year to 6th form and this is my favourite part of the job seeing the girls being a team competing against other schools. I also run Fitness club on a Tuesday and Thursday night for the boarders to keep up their fitness and give them a well-earned break from studying!
My name is Tiffany Teasdale and I grew up in Godalming, so Prior's Field was an easy choice to make from both the perspective of teaching in a school with an excellent standard of education and also to be near to the rolling Surrey hills I think of as home. I joined the Boarding team seven years ago and became a resident tutor in the Sixth Form and the Head of Food and Nutrition. My daughter, Madeline, is in the Third year at Prior's Field and my son, Jack, is at boarding school taking his GCSE’s. Living in the boarding house allows me to have a closer pastoral relationship with the A level students. I am able to support them from a 360 degree perspective (both academic and pastoral, as the two are heavily entwined). It enables me to support revision sessions and tutorials as we are not restricted to the normal school day. I am a keen runner (keen, but not fast!) and spend much of my free time training. The photo shows me at the end of my first half marathon last year and next month I will be running my third. There's talk of a marathon one day, but I'm not making any promises!
