PF Development

PF Development is about building communities in and out of school through cultural and fundraising events. It’s about encouraging current and past pupils, parents and staff, along with businesses and the local community, to come together in support of the school and the community in which we live. PF Development projects and events are successful due to the extremely generous nature of our parents, local businesses and alumnae.

We support a number of local charities but specifically Chase Hospice and Hearing Dogs for the Deaf. Fundraising should be called "fun-raising" as we had a lot of this, during the last 3 years, when creating and organising our annual fundraiser: PF Catwalk! Next year we will hold a "Red Hot Chilli Burns’ Night" – a Burns’ Night with a twist!

Not all projects need be about raising money. We are about to start work on a small project that will make a huge difference to the Gertrude Jekyll designed gardens that is so much a part of the school heritage. The long border, which forms part of the area much used by the younger girls during break and lunch to play croquet or to just sit and relax, will be completely rennovated in the months ahead.

In September we will be inviting parents to get involved by donating a plant to restock the border. And of course, if any parent would like to assist with the planting, we would be delighted! Teresa Burton-Brown, whose family have a long association with the school and whose daughter is a current pupil, is designing the border. We look forward to seeing her plans in the next few weeks.

In addition we are working on the launch of a Prior's Field community directory for parents. If parents, suppliers or local businesses who would like to raise the profile of their company within the PF community, 'The Directory' is the place to be! We will be sending information at the start of the new term explaining how to become part of this.
