During the past two years, the school has been delighted to welcome a number of authors and personalities to talk to parents, students and the local community. We’ve welcomed Michael Palin, Joanna Trollope, Alison Weir, Private Johnson Beharry VC, Mavis Cheek, Jamila Gavin. 

As part of this series, in 2008 we launched the Julia Huxley Annual Memorial Lecture to commemorate the founder of Prior's Field. Professor Germaine Greer gave the inaugural lecture on Shakespeare’s Wife which is also the title of her new book. This year, we welcomed George Alagiah, writer and BBC broadcaster, on December 4.

November 28 saw the launch of our one day literary festival which combined with the annual Christmas Fair. Writers Wendy Cope, Kate Williams and Mary Hooper joined us for the day.
