PREVIOUS EVENTS

Parents Social - October 2016

This was a fun social with a fantastic turn out of nearly 100 people – PF catering provided a superb meal with canapes, sit down main course and an amazing pudding display. Tamar Broadbent then provided after dinner entertainment.

Sport Day Refreshments & Dog Show – June 2016

The weather performed well for us again this year and parents enjoyed tea/coffee, home-made cakes, soft drinks and Pimms whilst watching the girls in their house colours competing.

The PF Dog Show was again a great success with local vet and parent Jamie Crittall judging

This year’s categories were cutest puppy, most attractive female, most handsome male and the most talented dog (best tricks)

Highgrove Gardens – May 2016

Highgrove Gardens are a most wonderful place to visit and on the 13 May, 51 one of us had the opportunity of sharing an extremely happy day there.  Having taken the coach from Prior’s Field we arrived in time for a quick coffee and visit to the delightful town of Tetbury, which is just a mile from Highgrove and then arrived at Highgrove in time for an early lunch.

Prince Charles has built a restaurant, called The Orchard, which looks as though it has been there for hundreds of years and fits perfectly in the setting.  The food is excellent and after a very good two course lunch we were divided in to two groups and given a guided tour of the gardens.

The guides are excellent and their knowledge of the gardens really gave an insight to the plans Prince Charles has had for them.  The gardens are divided in to several areas, each unique and different from the others.  However, none of them are too manicured and all have characters of their own.  Unfortunately, we were not allowed to take photos so I cannot fill this piece with them.

After the tours there was of course time for a quick visit to the shop and garden centre and then back on the coach.  On the way back to PF everyone was very generous in buying raffle tickets, which helped our fund raising efforts.

Quiz – March 2016

This is always a popular evening and 2016 did not disappoint!  We had a lovely curry supper prepared by the catering staff and a well-stocked bar. Last year’s winners Randoms (a mixture of parents and staff) were no longer on the same team so previous winners ‘May The Fourth Be With You’ were very serious, arriving promptly and sitting at their table ready for action in an attempt to regain their 2014 title!  The first round went well for most of the teams but many became stuck in the more challenging second round.  The overall winners were ‘Classy but Clueless’ who pipped ‘Plead the Fifth’ (2014 winners) by one point to win.  Prizes were in the form of ‘classy’ glittery rosettes and a PF pudding with ‘Extremum Fato’ receiving the wooden spoons.

Christmas Gift Fair – November 2015

This year was very well attended and with lots of exciting stalls for everyone to do their Christmas present shopping.  It was a record year for takings and many stall holders immediately booked for the 2016 Fair.  There are plenty of stalls for the girls to do some shopping and this year a few good stalls for buying presents for dads, brothers, uncles etc

Puddings – November 2015

We once again sold puddings – plum, chocolate, ginger, sticky toffee provided by The Ultimate Plum Pudding Company.  Virginia gets the orders in early in order to take full advantage of the discounts. These are always popular and a good solid fundraiser for the PSA.
