Our Aims

Prior’s Field pupils have a wide range of abilities, talents and interests.  The aim of the school is to provide an excellent all-round secondary education that brings out the best in each girl according to her abilities and talents.

We will do this by:

Inspiring girls with an ambitious and tailored, all-round education which encourages them to think for themselves and enables them to realise their potential;

Situated on the borders of Surrey, Hampshire and Sussex, we are just 2 miles from the A3 and 10 minutes from the M3 and M25. Gatwick is 48 minutes by road and Heathrow 40 minutes. Trains run on the hour between Godalming and London (Waterloo) and to Portsmouth.

Girls come to Prior's Field from the surrounding areas of Farnham, Guildford, Petersfield and Midhurst. Many travel by train to Godalming and take our minibus connection to school.

Boarders come from all over the world; US, Spain, Canada, Russia, Lithuania, Hong Kong and Japan. Many busy families enjoy the benefits of weekly boarding and girls travel from Wimbledon, Putney, Richmond, Wandsworth and Ealing.

Visitors to Prior’s Field frequently comment on its special, distinctive atmosphere and we pride ourselves on offering something different – an alternative route to high achievement.

Building confidence is the key to our success. The school is a happy, productive place in which girls of all ability are encouraged to be themselves, to enjoy their learning and to risk their own ideas in the classroom.
