Greenways Stables, only two minutes by school minibus, offers Horse Riding for two sessions, four evenings a week, for riders ranging from beginners and intermediates through to advanced levels.
Prior’s Field School boasts a very busy Riding Club with members ranging from those who have only just taken up riding to those who are competing in regional championships.
The PF Riding Club also has a very active 20 member strong riding team. The girls compete throughout the year in a number of the National Schools’ Equestrian Association competitions. The season has only just kicked off and the team of Lucy Collecott, Helena Traill, Emma Pudge and Elloise Maris came fourth in the Surrey and Sussex County Schools’ Championship’s dressage competition. At the same championship the mini jumping team of Holly Morganti, Elloise Maris and Amy Craig-Wood came sixth, the novice jumping team of Lucy Collecott, Helena Traill, Holly Morganti and Georgie Bitmead came fifth and in the intermediate jumping class Lucy Collecott, Helena Traill and Emma Pudge also took fifth place. The team is now looking forward to building on this success in the events to come. Caitlin McConnell, who concentrates on dressage, has made the team very proud by qualifying for the British Dressage National Winter Dressage Championships at Hartpury where she had to compete against a number of professional riders.
Besides winning rosettes and working hard on perfecting the art of riding the Club also puts on a number of events throughout the year. These include a trip to the "Pippa Funnell Tour" at Merrist Wood, a lecture from the leading horsewoman, Julia Felton, on "Instinctive Horsemanship" and an introductory Polo lesson at the Royal Ascot Polo Club.
