Everyone has inside of him a piece of good news. The good news is that you don't know how great you can be! How much you can love! What you can accomplish! And what your potential is! [ Anne Frank]
What is right to be done cannot be done too soon. [Jane Austen]
Deeds not words [ Emmeline Pankhurst]
These inspiring observations are from three powerful and visionary women from our past; Jane Austen, Emmeline Pankhurst and Anne Frank. These are also the names of our Houses here at Prior’s Field. Every girl who arrives in the school, will become part of either Austen, Frank or Pankhurst House.
The Houses offer a huge variety of opportunities for team spirit and competition and (most importantly) for fun. Annual House events include: House cross-country, House hockey, netball, tennis and rounders. House athletics (at Sports Day). House problem solving, House debating, House recitation, House horse-riding, House cheer-leading, House music, House drama (PF’S Got Talent), House Art, House quizzes, House Christmas tree decorating and House fund-raising.
Each House is run by Head of House (a staff member) and a House Captain – a member of the Sixth Form. The House programme will vary from year to year and is contsructed after consultation with girls.
The House activities allow for vibrant self-expression and good-humoured competitiveness – watch out next year for House Photography, House cooking and possibly even, House eco awards...
