First Year Shropshire Trip

As part of their induction, the first formers are taken on a residential trip to Shropshire each year. When they return, they are keen to tell their views:

“I learned that if everyone works well as a team, it REALLY works!”

With the pattern of the first few weeks of term behind them, the first form team of pupils and staff head into deepest Shropshire to zipwire, raft build, nighthike and overcome obstacles together. They learn that survival in the woods means campfires and shelter and that survival as a group means teamwork and listening.

“I have made friends with new people who are more like me than I knew”.

With new friends and a more relaxed relationship with staff, having shared problems and mud, the girls are then ready to work as a year team and move, with greater confidence, into the remainder of the year... together.
