Trips have been the order of the week, with Maths, Photography and Sociology Departments all exploring their subjects further afield. Meanwhile, at school, languages have been celebrated in vibrant style and we have welcomed visiting speakers including, to celebrate National Poetry Day, the British poet Hannah Lowe. Girls have run (and aimed high!) in House Cross Country with the theme of Up, up and Away, thrown themselves into golf taster sessions with a visiting professional coach and baked masterly for Macmillan Cancer Support.
Many congratulations to Third Former Mabel, the deserved winner of last week’s Word of the Week Competition and recipient of merits and chocolate; it is great to see entries coming in across the year groups. A reminder that tomorrow is our school Open Day and Thursday our Sixth Form Open evening (6.00 – 8.00pm). Thank you in advance to your daughters for welcoming prospective families, and helping them get a feel for Prior’s Field.
I was privileged today to visit Edgeborough School as part of their Friday Service and deliver a talk about imagination, creativity and ambition to a wonderful audience of pupils, parents and staff. The atmosphere was amazing – full of enthusiasm, energy and engagement and those same qualities are reflected in the girls from Edgeborough who have joined us this year.
It only remains for me to wish the girls taking their RADA Messenger exams ‘Good Luck’ for Monday and to extend an invitation once again to all Fifth Form Parents and pupils to join us for Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday.
